The most important Concluding recommendations that came out from APSU Conference for Dam’s Safety held in Mousl Dam Project 13-14 Nov. 2021.
- Working to establish a unified database controlled by the MOWR, which include all the Dams information’s regarding Topographic, seismic, Geological and Hydrological Maps, or updating them to be a source to all related researches, studies and projects.
- Enhancing cooperation of Exchanging Information and Experiences between downstream & Upstream countries specially the technical aspects that concern Dam’s Safety and all related information.
- Develop Scenarios of Risks and all the impact of Disasters if they take place or happen, their consequences and effect on dams and Enhancing methods of Exchanging Information, such as flow quantities and speed to reduce the impacts.
- Working on developing “Safety Index” that safety selectors or determinants depend on according to International Standards.
- The Necessity of developing the” Samrat Technology & Early warning Systems”.
- Lead the way for Universities, Civil Society Organizations to Participate in all developing works, exchange experiences and researches with the Neighboring Countries, for Example involving them in the technical aspects of the” Iraqi-Turkey Cooperation Program.”
- Training Qualified Scientific & Managerial staff to run and control the Dam’s Safety according to the latest methods and International Standards.
- C coordinate with the Universities to study the possibility of adding a proposing Course titled” Dam’s Safety” for Bachelor’s Students in Water Resources & Civil Engineering.
- The Importance of launching a “National Speech” for exchange Visions in order to proceed with imposing & approving “Dam’s Safey law”.
- The Necessity of signify & taking advantage from the International Expertise & Experience through technical fields visits and Consultations to ensure the best & optimal use & security of dams.
- Execute projects related to emergency plans and dam’s safety and overcome all the obstacles imposing against the implementation of these projects.
- Involve International Institutions and, United Nations organizations to undertake their duties to ensure the Dam’s Safety within certain legal aspects.
