His majesty Prince El Hassan bin Talal gave a valuable speech at the meeting of the Advisory Committee for Policy Development for the Blue Peace Initiative sponsored by His Majesty and in cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC, which was held today – via digital technology – with participation of regional institutions and organizations in Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon The Ministry of Water Resources was represented by the Director General of the Dams and Reservoirs Authority, Eng. Kazem Sahar Jaber.
His Majesty praised the efforts of the Ministry of Water Resources, noting the first Baghdad Water Conference as an event that succeeded in establishing knowledge exchange among the participants from the countries of the region. He also praised the ministry’s steps to construct the Makhoul Dam as one of the ways to confront water scarcity, and called on everyone to strengthen joint cooperation in this field, especially the riparian countries.
